The MacDonalds are grateful for the many letters of public support received each day, and thought we would share some of these very kind thoughts.
Thank you for your continued good wishes.

"I first met you, Dr. MacDonald, when you worked in Long Beach, CA.  I worked for Schaefer's Ambulance, first as an EMT, later as a Paramedic.  You were very helpful to a patient I brought into the hospital.  Want to wish you the best and hope someday you will be free, and can help the sick and injured again."

"I have just completed reading the materials on the web pertaining to the crime and Dr. MacDonald's innocence.  33 years is a long, long time for some one to have to try to prove himself.  I hope he gets out soon and enjoys life with his new wife.  Enjoy his remaining years and to be able to hold up his head high."

"I have done a lot of research on your case for over 20 years now and I do believe you are innocent and I feel very bad about what has happened to you. Many things have changed over the years in this case, people, doctors, etc. testified one way at the article 32 hearing and another way at the 1979 trial.  The only thing so far that has remained consistent is your version of what happened.  If there is any way I can help or if you need anything that I could send to you, you only have to ask and there are no strings attached.  I am very happy that you have your website and that you have the people like Kathy running it as well as your defense team.  I have always looked as you as an honest straight forward person who have had the misfortune of being at the wrong place at the wrong time so to speak.  I can only hope and pray that this injustice will be rectified.  I want nothing from you, but I am willing to do anything possible to help you.  I sincerely wish you the best and may God be with you."

"I myself, over the years, watched the movie, read all the news articles and everything concerning your case, and have no doubt you were wrongly imprisoned for all these years based just on circumstantial evidence.  I wish you the best of luck.  God bless you and your family and much success!  May you be blessed with happiness as a free man soon. "I grew up in Patchogue, New York.  I have been interested in your case for many years now.  I am saddened every time I think about the injustice that has befallen you.  I have turned many of my friends and family into supporters of your case.   I truly hope that your innocence will be recognized by all, and that you may finally be able to live the life that you deserve."

"I have spent my life remembering you as Joe McGinniss portrayed you in print and film.  I was a young girl when your family was taken away from you so brutally.  I remember being so horrified that a father and husband could do something so heinous to his own family.  It was incomprehensible to me.  I am 32 years of age now, and recently came across the book written that tells the true story of the crime, and the insane injustice that our government and the military have done you. It offers little comfort, but I offer my apologies as a citizen and peer.  I hope and pray that you win this battle, and your freedom.  Perhaps that will offer some closure for all parties affected by this nightmare.  My prayers are with you and your family.  Best of luck in your fight for justice."

"I was Active Duty as a B-52 Crew Chief when I first saw the television mini-series depicting you as some monster.  I saw right through the lies immediately, and many of my friends and relatives have had to sit through a few tirades from me about the wrongful conviction of such an admiral officer, who wanted nothing more than to serve his Country and provide for his family!  What has been done can never be undone.  But you have to keep the faith!  God Bless you Sir, and I salute you! "I was convinced of Dr. MacDonald's guilt after reading "FATAL VISION" many years go.  I have maintained an interest in the case and came across the mention of  "FATAL JUSTICE" on your website.  Having completed it, I am quite simply amazed, astonished, horrified and sickened by the handling of your case and the evidence.  Also, as a writer (I was a newspaper staff reporter fro 12 years) I am deeply disappointed in Joe McGinniss.  His distortions of the case and of Dr. MacDonald as a person, and the ensuing damage is immeasurable in the court of public opinion.  I am convinced that Dr. MacDonald did not kill his family and I am truly saddened by the treatment he has received over the years.  You should know, sir, that it is possible for opinions to change concerning your case and incarceration, and that good people who believe in real justice and the merits of new evidence, now matter how long it takes for it to be obtained, are ready to fight for the truth and what is right.  Take care and keep fighting."
